Title: University should teach students knowledge and skills helping for the future career. Do you AGREE or DISAGREE?
Nowadays, many students pay a lot of effect aiming to be admitted to a high level university, and then, work in a high-income company. However, whether a university should teach a student both knowledge and skills for his or her future career has been in a widely discussion.
A student could not learn such lots of skills which are needed in the future career. As a matter of fact, the period of college student is limited, and there would be no more time to learn working skills instead of useful knowledge, which is the basic aim to a college student. The worse thing is that, a student even does not have enough time to learn knowledge during a whole college time in such a developed industrial society.
Moreover, too many times, the skills taught in university are completely useless or far from the real world. Without any working experience, it is hard to image a great professor in college is able to tell his or her students exactly so-called “skills” about which students really want to know. In this situation, students easily misunderstand the whole thing which may harm to their future career.
Some people may say, university seems to be useless to a student’s career. However, they are totally wrong. What a student learn most in a famous university is the method of studying and value of life rather than knowledge or basic skills.
In other words, a student will learn a great deal of things which is more useful and will never learn in any other places. Besides, knowledge and skills, there are a lot of things still to be crucial to a person’s life, and at the time of graduation, he or she proximately will exactly understand.
